Ember Arms LLC – Firearm Transfer Policy
Processing Note
Items that show as “delivered” may not be ready for pickup for up to two (2) business days after the carrier delivery date. We must receive, inspect, and log every firearm into our Acquisition & Disposition records before it can be transferred. You will be notified by phone, email, or text when your item is ready for pickup. Please do not call to check status—we will contact you as soon as it is ready.
General Transfer Rules
-
All transfers are conducted in strict compliance with ATF regulations and applicable state and local law.
-
Ember Arms reserves the right to refuse any transfer.
-
The original invoiced purchaser must be the transferee.
-
Only items shipped from a licensed FFL will be accepted for transfer.
-
Ember Arms does not inspect, test, warranty, or make any representations about the condition or functionality of transferred items. Any issues must be resolved between the buyer and the original seller.
-
Private-party transfers require both parties to be present with valid government-issued photo identification.
-
By having an item shipped to Ember Arms, the customer agrees to these terms.
Storage Fees & Abandonment (Standard Firearms)
-
You have twenty-one (21) calendar days from the date we notify you that the item is ready to begin the transfer process.
-
After day 21, a storage fee of $5 per day applies (prorated). All accrued storage fees must be paid in full before the firearm will be released.
-
If the transfer process has not been started (or alternative arrangements made in writing) within ninety (90) days of notification, the item will be considered abandoned. We will make reasonable attempts to contact you using the information you provided.
-
You remain responsible for all accrued fees and any return-shipping costs. Ember Arms may return the item to the original shipping FFL at your expense or, if return is not feasible, take the item into inventory, properly record the disposition in our A&D records, and dispose of it in compliance with ATF regulations to recover costs.
NFA Transfers
-
No storage fee accrues while a Form 4 is pending with ATF.
-
After we notify you of ATF approval, the standard storage and abandonment terms above apply.
-
On denial, or if the customer fails to complete the transfer within ninety (90) days of approval notice:
-
The transfer fee is non-refundable (receiving, logging, and paperwork facilitation services have already been performed).
-
The customer is responsible for coordinating the return with the original seller. Ember Arms will assist with FFL copies and logistics where possible.
-
If the denial is appealable and the same item returns to us, a retry may be completed without an additional transfer fee.
-
Additional Terms
-
Transfer fees are non-refundable once the item has been received and logged, regardless of NICS result, delay, denial, or customer cancellation.
-
All return shipping and related costs are the customer’s responsibility.
-
Accurate contact information is required. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure they can receive our notification.
